INKED explores the culture surrounding tattoos and celebrates the use of the human body as a canvas for art. For thousands of years, humans have adorned their bodies with inks, dyes, and pigments. Many different reasons motivate people to get them, such as spirituality, memorializing the dead, or because they simply desire to. In recent years, tattoos have become more popular in our culture and more accepted by our society.

By photographing diverse models in front of colored backdrops, INKED showcases people who choose to permanently decorate their body and the beautiful artwork that they carry with them, in hopes to lower the negative stigma that still surrounds tattoos.
